Ebola first appeared in 1976 in 2 simultaneous outbreaks, in Nzara, Sudan, and in Yambuku, Democratic Republic of Congo.
Signs and symptoms
- muscle pain
- vomiting, diarrhea and rashes
- impaired kidney and liver dis function
- difficulty in breathing and swallowing
- sore throats
- lack of appetite
- weakness
- internal and external bleeding
Currently there is Ebola outbreak in west Africa countries like Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Nigeria. 909 and cases and 485 deaths have been reported so far which includes health workers. There's no vaccine for Ebola so health officials have to stop the infection by isolating patients to prevent further transmission.
